House Prices Rise in Lancashire, North West England

House prices in Lancashire rose by just over nine per cent in a year, Land

Registry figures show.

In April 2007, the average price of a house in the county stood at £130,088

compared to £118,068 the previous April.

April’s figures also represent a rise of 1.3 per cent on March’s house prices.

The average cost of a detached house in Lancashire in April was £250,047,

semis costs £134,395 and the average price of a terraced house stood at

£75,340.

The figures put Lancashire well below the national average cost of a house,

which stood at £179,935 in April.

The busiest month for moving house in Lancashire between April 2006 and this

February was in June last year, when 3,023 properties were sold. The quietest

month was in February with 1,822 homes sold.
