House Prices Rise in Worcestershire, West Midlands

House prices in Worcestershire rose by just over five per cent in a year, Land

Registry figures show.

In April 2007, the average price of a house in the county stood at £185,361

compared to £175,310 the previous April.

April’s figures also represent a rise of 0.4 per cent on March’s house prices.

The average cost of a detached house in Worcestershire in April was £290,320,

semis costs £158,899 and the average price of a terraced house stood at

£129,744.

The figures put Worcestershire above the national average cost of a house,

which stood at £179,935 in April.

The busiest month for moving house in Worcestershire between April 2006 and

this February was in August last year, when 1,242 properties were sold. The

quietest month was in February with 737 homes sold.
