House prices in Wiltshire rose by just over eight per cent in a year, Land Registry
figures show.
In April 2007, the average price of a house in the county stood at £199,804
compared to £183,933 the previous April.
April’s figures also represent a rise of 1.0 per cent on March’s house prices.
The average cost of a detached house in Wiltshire in April was £311,816, semis
costs £179,483 and the average price of a terraced house stood at £150,409.
The figures put Wiltshire above the national average cost of a house, which
stood at £179,935 in April.
The busiest month for moving house in Wiltshire between April 2006 and this
February was in June last year, when 1,101 properties were sold. The quietest
month was in January with 643 homes sold.
