House Prices Rise in West Sussex, South East England

Property prices in West Sussex, South East England, rose by 7.8 per cent between January 2006 and January 2007.

According to the latest Land Registry figures, the average price of a property in West Sussex stood at £241,167 last January.

The average price of a detached home was £373,079 in January 2007, compared to £335,732 in the previous January, a difference of 11.1 per cent.

Semi-detached homes cost an average of £233,018 last January, compared to £220,401 the year before while the average price of a terraced home stood at £193,691 in January 2007, compared to £190,214 in January 2006.

The cheapest property purchased in West Sussex between January 2006 and January 2007 sold for £5,000 while the most expensive cost £3m.

In total, during the same period, £4,910m was spent on property in the area.

The average price of a house in West Sussex in January last year compares to £241,167 for the county of South East England and a national average of £211,232.
