House prices in Suffolk rose by just over nine per cent in a year, Land Registry
figures show.
In April 2007, the average price of a house in the county stood at £169,002
compared to £154,909 the previous April.
April’s figures also represent a rise of 0.8 per cent on March’s house prices.
The average cost of a detached house in Suffolk in April was £260,418, semis
costs £148,020 and the average price of a terraced house stood at £121,223.
The figures put Suffolk below the national average cost of a house, which stood at
£179,935 in April.
The busiest month for moving house in Suffolk between April 2006 and this
February was in June last year, when 1,774 properties were sold. The quietest
month was in February with 1,031 homes sold.
