House prices in Staffordshire rose by just under five per cent in a year, Land
Registry figures show.
In April 2007, the average price of a house in the county stood at £151,901
compared to £144,927 the previous April.
April’s figures also represent a rise of 0.8 per cent on March’s house prices.
The average cost of a detached house in Staffordshire in April was £242,694,
semis costs £129,769 and the average price of a terraced house stood at £97,726.
The figures put Staffordshire well below the national average cost of a house, which
stood at £179,935 in April.
The busiest month for moving house in Staffordshire between April 2006 and this
February was in June last year, when 1,722 properties were sold. The quietest
month was in February with 986 homes sold.
