House prices in Shropshire rose by just over six per cent in a year, Land Registry
figures show.
In April 2007, the average price of a house in the county stood at £176,338
compared to £166,162 the previous April.
April’s figures also represent a rise of 0.6 per cent on March’s house prices.
The average cost of a detached house in Shropshire in April was £261,952, semis
costs £149,619 and the average price of a terraced house stood at £129,090.
The figures put Shropshire slightly below the national average cost of a house,
which stood at £179,935 in April.
The busiest month for moving house in Shropshire between April 2006 and this
February was in August last year, when 651 properties were sold. The quietest
month was in February with 322 homes sold.
