House Prices Rise in Powys, Mid Wales

House prices in Powys rose by just over four per cent in a year, Land Registry

figures show.

In April 2007, the average price of a house in the county stood at £163,026

compared to £155,726 the previous April.

April’s figures also represent a rise of 0.2 per cent on March’s house prices.

The average cost of a detached house in Powys in April was £223,892, semis

costs £132,267 and the average price of a terraced house stood at £106,099.

The figures put Powys below the national average cost of a house, which stood at

£179,935 in April.

The busiest month for moving house in Powys between April 2006 and this

February was in October last year, when 227 properties were sold. The quietest

month was in February with 117 homes sold.
