House prices in Oxfordshire rose by just over nine per cent in a year, Land Registry
figures show.
In April 2007, the average price of a house in the county stood at £241,582
compared to £220,636 the previous April.
April’s figures also represent a rise of 0.9 per cent on March’s house prices.
The average cost of a detached house in Oxfordshire in April was £377,594, semis
costs £221,739 and the average price of a terraced house stood at £204,290.
The figures put Oxfordshire well above the national average cost of a house, which
stood at £179,935 in April.
The busiest month for moving house in Oxfordshire between April 2006 and this
February was in August last year, when 1,508 properties were sold. The quietest
month was in February with 785 homes sold.
