House prices in Northumberland rose by just under eight per cent in a year, Land
Registry figures show.
In April 2007, the average price of a house in the county stood at £154,390
compared to £143,363 the previous April.
April’s figures also represent a rise of 1.0 per cent on March’s house prices.
The average cost of a detached house in Northumberland in April was £281,607,
semis costs £137,054 and the average price of a terraced house stood at £99,482.
The figures put Northumberland below the national average cost of a house, which
stood at £179,935 in April.
The busiest month for moving house in Northumberland between April 2006 and this
February was in December last year, when 709 properties were sold. The quietest
month was in February with 377 homes sold.
