House prices in North Yorkshire rose by just over eight per cent in a year, Land
Registry figures show.
In April 2007, the average price of a house in the county stood at £194,213
compared to £179,007 the previous April.
April’s figures also represent a rise of 0.7 per cent on March’s house prices.
The average cost of a detached house in North Yorkshire in April was £299,078,
semis costs £169,925 and the average price of a terraced house stood at
£143,390.
The figures put North Yorkshire above the national average cost of a house,
which stood at £179,935 in April.
The busiest month for moving house in North Yorkshire between April 2006 and
this February was in June last year, when 1,451 properties were sold. The
quietest month was in February with 790 homes sold.
