House Prices Rise in Norfolk, East of England

House prices in Norfolk rose by just under 10 per cent in a year, Land Registry

figures show.

In April 2007, the average price of a house in the county stood at £162,419

compared to £147,797 the previous April.

April’s figures also represent a rise of 0.8 per cent on March’s house prices.

The average cost of a detached house in Norfolk in April was £234,520, semis

costs £149,165 and the average price of a terraced house stood at £119,073.

The figures put Norfolk just below the national average cost of a house, which

stood at £179,935 in April.

The busiest month for moving house in Norfolk between April 2006 and this

February was in June last year, when 2,114 properties were sold. The quietest

month was in February with 1,212 homes sold.
