House prices in Hertfordshire rose by just over nine per cent in a year, Land
Registry figures show.
In April 2007, the average price of a house in the county stood at £242,540
compared to £221,787 the previous April.
April’s figures also represent a rise of 1.2 per cent on March’s house prices.
The average cost of a detached house in Hertfordshire in April was £482,866,
semis costs £274,312 and the average price of a terraced house stood at
£206,489.
The figures put Hertfordshire well above the national average cost of a house,
which stood at £179,935 in April.
The busiest month for moving house in Hertfordshire between April 2006 and
this February was in August last year, when 2,590 properties were sold. The
quietest month was in February with 1,600 homes sold.
