House Prices Rise in East Sussex, South East England

House prices in East Sussex rose by eight per cent in a year, Land Registry

figures show.

In April 2007, the average price of a house in the county stood at £194,034

compared to £179,649 the previous April.

April’s figures also represent a rise of 0.3 per cent on March’s house prices.

The average cost of a detached house in East Sussex in April was £340,081,

semis costs £201,519 and the average price of a terraced house stood at

£163,061.

The figures put East Sussex below the national average cost of a house, which

stood at £179,935 in April.

The busiest month for moving house in East Sussex between April 2006 and this

February was in August last year, when 1,499 properties were sold. The quietest

month was in April with 962 homes sold.
