House Prices Rise in East Riding of Yorkshire

House prices in East Riding of Yorkshire rose by just over seven per cent in a

year, Land Registry figures show.

In April 2007, the average price of a house in the county stood at £153,568

compared to £142,553 the previous April.

April’s figures also represent a rise of 1.0 per cent on March’s house prices.

The average cost of a detached house in East Riding of Yorkshire in April was

£224,749, semis costs £129,368 and the average price of a terraced house

stood at £97,312.

The figures put East Riding of Yorkshire below the national average cost of a

house, which stood at £179,935 in April.

The busiest month for moving house in East Riding of Yorkshire between April

2006 and this February was in June last year, when 954 properties were sold.

The quietest month was in February with 514 homes sold.
