House prices in Cumbria rose by more than nine per cent in a year, Land
Registry figures show.
In April 2007, the average price of a house in the county stood at £139,265
compared to £127,054 the previous April.
April’s figures also represent a rise of 0.3 per cent on March’s house prices.
The average cost of a detached house in Cumbria in April was £258,992, semis
costs £136,598 and the average price of a terraced house stood at £90,781.
The figures put Cumbria below the national average cost of a house, which stood
at £179,935 in April.
The busiest month for moving house in Cumbria between April 2006 and this
February was in June last year, when 1,092 properties were sold. The quietest
month was in February with 653 homes sold.
