House prices in Cardiff rose by just over 3.1 per cent in a year, Land Registry
figures show.
In April 2007, the average price of a house in the county stood at £154,233
compared to £149,654 the previous April.
April’s figures also represent a rise of 0.4 per cent on March’s house prices.
The average cost of a detached house in Cardiff in April was £261,231, semis
costs £156,697 and the average price of a terraced house stood at £150,391.
The figures put Cardiff below the national average cost of a house, which stood
at £179,935 in April.
The busiest month for moving house in Cardiff between April 2006 and this
February was in June last year, when 792 properties were sold. The quietest
month was in February with 437 homes sold.
