House Prices Rise in Cambridgeshire, East of England

House prices in Cambridgeshire rose by just over nine per cent in a year, Land

Registry figures show.

In April 2007, the average price of a house in the county stood at £193,023,

compared to £176,618 the previous April.

April’s figures also represent a rise of 1.1 per cent on March’s house prices.

The average cost of a detached house in Cambridgeshire in April was

£276,677, semis costs £171,387 and the average price of a terraced house

stood at £150,391.

The figures put Cambridgeshire ahead of the national average cost of a house,

which stood at £179,935 in April.

The busiest month for moving house in Cambridgeshire between April 2006 and

this February was in June last year, when 1,424 properties were sold. The

quietest month was in February with 860 homes sold.
