House Prices Rise in Salisbury, Wiltshire

Property prices in Salisbury, Wiltshire, rose by 17 per cent between January 2006 and January 2007.

According to the latest Land Registry figures, the average price of a property in Salisbury stood at £266,648 last January.

The average price of a detached home was £369,372 in January 2007, compared to £314,389 in the previous January, a difference of 17.5 per cent.

Semi-detached homes cost an average of £229,545 last January, compared to £196,014 the year before while the average price of a terraced home stood at £231,695 in January 2007, compared to £193,297 in January 2006.

The cheapest property purchased in Salisbury between January 2006 and January 2007 sold for £25,000 while the most expensive cost £1m.

In total, during the same period, £537m was spent on property in the area.

The average price of a house in Salisbury in January last year compares to £240,631 for the county of Wiltshire and a national average of £211,232.
