House Prices Rise in Devizes, Wiltshire

Property prices in Devizes, Wiltshire, rose by 16 per cent between January 2006 and January 2007.

According to the latest Land Registry figures, the average price of a property in Devizes stood at £239,343 last January.

The average price of a detached home was £352,474 in January 2007, compared to £306,282 in the previous January, a difference of 15.1 per cent.

Semi-detached homes cost an average of £157,840 last January, compared to £165,545 the year before while the average price of a terraced home stood at £178,215 in January 2007, compared to £163,630 in January 2006.

The cheapest property purchased in Devizes between January 2006 and January 2007 sold for £40,000 while the most expensive cost £2m.

In total, during the same period, £147m was spent on property in the area.

The average price of a house in Devizes in January last year compares to £240,631 for the county of Wiltshire and a national average of £211,232.
