House Prices Rise in Wakefield, West Yorkshire

Property prices in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, rose by 3 per cent between January 2006 and January 2007.

According to the latest Land Registry figures, the average price of a property in Wakefield stood at £164,700 last January.

The average price of a detached home was £258,374 in January 2007, compared to £261,927 in the previous January, a difference of 1.4 per cent.

Semi-detached homes cost an average of £133,975 last January, compared to £136,754 the year before while the average price of a terraced home stood at £120,679 in January 2007, compared to £119,756 in January 2006.

The cheapest property purchased in Wakefield between January 2006 and January 2007 sold for £18,000 while the most expensive cost £2m.

In total, during the same period, £480m was spent on property in the area.
