House Prices Rise in Worthing, West Sussex

Property prices in Worthing, West Sussex, rose by 10.5 per cent between January 2006 and January 2007.

According to the latest Land Registry figures, the average price of a property in Worthing stood at £206,355 last January.

The average price of a detached home was £307,132 in January 2007, compared to £283,900 in the previous January, a difference of 8.2 per cent.

Semi-detached homes cost an average of £222,646 last January, compared to £228,155 the year before while the average price of a terraced home stood at £186,471 in January 2007, compared to £190,161 in January 2006.

The cheapest property purchased in Worthing between January 2006 and January 2007 sold for £50,000 while the most expensive cost £1m.

In total, during the same period, £741m was spent on property in the area.

The average price of a house in Worthing in January last year compares to £241,167 for the county of West Sussex and a national average of £211,232.
