House Prices Rise in Thirsk, North Yorkshire

Property prices in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, rose by 12.8 per cent between January 2006 and January 2007.

According to the latest Land Registry figures, the average price of a property in Thirsk stood at £227,033 last January.

The average price of a detached home was £310,000 in January 2007, compared to £318,964 in the previous January, a difference of 2.8 per cent.

Semi-detached homes cost an average of £169,583 last January, compared to £154,241 the year before while the average price of a terraced home stood at £145,500 in January 2007, compared to £140,725 in January 2006.

The cheapest property purchased in Thirsk between January 2006 and January 2007 sold for £50,000 while the most expensive cost £900,000.

In total, during the same period, £81m was spent on property in the area.
