House Prices Fall in Ripon, North Yorkshire

Property prices in Ripon, North Yorkshire, fell by 17.8 per cent between January 2006 and January 2007.

According to the latest Land Registry figures, the average price of a property in Ripon stood at £187,948 last January.

The average price of a detached home was £326,750 in January 2007, compared to £405,354 in the previous January, a difference of 19.4 per cent.

Semi-detached homes cost an average of £193,313 last January, compared to £169,550 the year before while the average price of a terraced home stood at £150,192 in January 2007, compared to £188,076 in January 2006.

The cheapest property purchased in Ripon between January 2006 and January 2007 sold for £48,709 while the most expensive cost £775,000.

In total, during the same period, £122m was spent on property in the area.

The average price of a house in Ripon in January last year compares to £211,596 for the county of North Yorkshire and a national average of £211,232.
