House Prices Rise in Redcar, North Yorkshire

Property prices in Redcar, North Yorkshire, rose by 5.4 per cent between January 2006 and January 2007.

According to the latest Land Registry figures, the average price of a property in Redcar stood at £126,010 last January.

The average price of a detached home was £159,799 in January 2007, compared to £189,285 in the previous January, a difference of 15.6 per cent.

Semi-detached homes cost an average of £127,089 last January, compared to £114,220 the year before while the average price of a terraced home stood at £101,814 in January 2007, compared to £93,103 in January 2006.

The cheapest property purchased in Redcar between January 2006 and January 2007 sold for £15,000 while the most expensive cost £405,000.

In total, during the same period, £154m was spent on property in the area.

The average price of a house in Redcar in January last year compares to £211,596 for the county of North Yorkshire and a national average of £211,232.
