House Prices Rise in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire

Property prices in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, rose by 12.2 per cent between January 2006 and January 2007.

According to the latest Land Registry figures, the average price of a property in Middlesbrough stood at £128,433 last January.

The average price of a detached home was £275,200 in January 2007, compared to £214,303 in the previous January, a difference of 28.4 per cent.

Semi-detached homes cost an average of £128,293 last January, compared to £120,250 the year before while the average price of a terraced home stood at £89,575 in January 2007, compared to £77,032 in January 2006.

The cheapest property purchased in Middlesbrough between January 2006 and January 2007 sold for £9,000 while the most expensive cost £1m.

In total, during the same period, £486m was spent on property in the area.

The average price of a house in Middlesbrough in January last year compares to £211,596 for the county of North Yorkshire and a national average of £211,232.
