House Prices Rise in Norwich, Norfolk

Property prices in Norwich, Norfolk, rose by 9.1 per cent between January 2006 and January 2007.

According to the latest Land Registry figures, the average price of a property in Norwich stood at £194,185 last January.

The average price of a detached home was £265,033 in January 2007, compared to £237,600 in the previous January, a difference of 11.6 per cent.

Semi-detached homes cost an average of £172,313 last January, compared to £149,232 the year before while the average price of a terraced home stood at £161,731 in January 2007, compared to £160,516 in January 2006.

The cheapest property purchased in Norwich between January 2006 and January 2007 sold for £21,000 while the most expensive cost £2m.

In total, during the same period, £1,518m was spent on property in the area.

The average price of a house in Norwich in January last year compares to £180,764 for the county of Norfolk and a national average of £211,232.
