House Prices Rise in Nelson, Lancashire

Property prices in Nelson, Lancashire, rose by 20.6 per cent between January 2006 and January 2007.

According to the latest Land Registry figures, the average price of a property in Nelson stood at £88,358 last January.

The average price of a detached home was £229,916 in January 2007, compared to £247,421 in the previous January, a difference of 7.1 per cent.

Semi-detached homes cost an average of £119,650 last January, compared to £113,288 the year before while the average price of a terraced home stood at £69,613 in January 2007, compared to £49,288 in January 2006.

The cheapest property purchased in Nelson between January 2006 and January 2007 sold for £6,000 while the most expensive cost £690,000.

In total, during the same period, £141m was spent on property in the area.
