House Prices Rise in Sheerness, Kent

Property prices in Sheerness, Kent, rose by 18.6 per cent between January 2006 and January 2007.

According to the latest Land Registry figures, the average price of a property in Sheerness stood at £160,986 last January.

The average price of a detached home was £229,771 in January 2007, compared to £184,207 in the previous January, a difference of 24.7 per cent.

Semi-detached homes cost an average of £170,082 last January, compared to £157,846 the year before while the average price of a terraced home stood at £123,681 in January 2007, compared to £121,663 in January 2006.

The cheapest property purchased in Sheerness between January 2006 and January 2007 sold for £29,000 while the most expensive cost £432,000.

In total, during the same period, £121m was spent on property in the area.

The average price of a house in Sheerness in January last year compares to £221,946 for the county of Kent and a national average of £211,232.
