House Prices Rise in Rochester, Kent

Property prices in Rochester, Kent, rose by 18.6 per cent between January 2006 and January 2007.

According to the latest Land Registry figures, the average price of a property in Rochester stood at £194,147 last January.

The average price of a detached home was £327,085 in January 2007, compared to £318,541 in the previous January, a difference of 2.7 per cent.

Semi-detached homes cost an average of £187,628 last January, compared to £177,467 the year before while the average price of a terraced home stood at £159,227 in January 2007, compared to £143,126 in January 2006.

The cheapest property purchased in Rochester between January 2006 and January 2007 sold for £50,000 while the most expensive cost £2m.

In total, during the same period, £356m was spent on property in the area.
