House Prices Rise in Margate, Kent

Property prices in Margate, Kent, rose by 14.3 per cent between January 2006 and January 2007.

According to the latest Land Registry figures, the average price of a property in Margate stood at £151,471 last January.

The average price of a detached home was £240,832 in January 2007, compared to £209,332 in the previous January, a difference of 15.1 per cent.

Semi-detached homes cost an average of £169,653 last January, compared to £178,941 the year before while the average price of a terraced home stood at £143,861 in January 2007, compared to £130,533 in January 2006.

The cheapest property purchased in Margate between January 2006 and January 2007 sold for £30,000 while the most expensive cost £485,000.

In total, during the same period, £171m was spent on property in the area.
