House Prices Rise in Maidstone, Kent

Property prices in Maidstone, Kent, rose by 7.1 per cent between January 2006 and January 2007.

According to the latest Land Registry figures, the average price of a property in Maidstone stood at £224,954 last January.

The average price of a detached home was £379,999 in January 2007, compared to £339,637 in the previous January, a difference of 11.9 per cent.

Semi-detached homes cost an average of £217,683 last January, compared to £199,231 the year before while the average price of a terraced home stood at £169,640 in January 2007, compared to £166,393 in January 2006.

The cheapest property purchased in Maidstone between January 2006 and January 2007 sold for £33,750 while the most expensive cost £2m.

In total, during the same period, £717m was spent on property in the area.

The average price of a house in Maidstone in January last year compares to £221,946 for the county of Kent and a national average of £211,232.
