House Prices Rise in Folkestone, Kent

Property prices in Folkestone, Kent, rose by 0.8 per cent between January 2006 and January 2007.

According to the latest Land Registry figures, the average price of a property in Folkestone stood at £163,280 last January.

The average price of a detached home was £244,466 in January 2007, compared to £271,866 in the previous January, a difference of 10.1 per cent.

Semi-detached homes cost an average of £187,920 last January, compared to £145,113 the year before while the average price of a terraced home stood at £147,274 in January 2007, compared to £143,057 in January 2006.

The cheapest property purchased in Folkestone between January 2006 and January 2007 sold for £32,500 while the most expensive cost £700,000.

In total, during the same period, £290m was spent on property in the area.

The average price of a house in Folkestone in January last year compares to £221,946 for the county of Kent and a national average of £211,232.
