House Prices Rise in Chatham, Kent

Property prices in Chatham, Kent, rose by 17.6 per cent between January 2006 and January 2007.

According to the latest Land Registry figures, the average price of a property in Chatham stood at £165,603 last January.

The average price of a detached home was £263,202 in January 2007, compared to £289,750 in the previous January, a difference of 9.2 per cent.

Semi-detached homes cost an average of £192,899 last January, compared to £152,265 the year before while the average price of a terraced home stood at £141,333 in January 2007, compared to £128,745 in January 2006.

The cheapest property purchased in Chatham between January 2006 and January 2007 sold for £36,000 while the most expensive cost £680,000.

In total, during the same period, £320m was spent on property in the area.
