House Prices Rise in Ventnor, Isle Of Wight

Property prices in Ventnor, Isle Of Wight, rose by 3.1 per cent between January 2006 and January 2007.

According to the latest Land Registry figures, the average price of a property in Ventnor stood at £198,375 last January.

The average price of a detached home was £307,600 in January 2007, compared to £240,375 in the previous January, a difference of 28 per cent.

Semi-detached homes cost an average of £166,083 last January, compared to £139,400 the year before while the average price of a terraced home stood at £135,937 in January 2007, compared to £143,500 in January 2006.

The cheapest property purchased in Ventnor between January 2006 and January 2007 sold for £55,000 while the most expensive cost £855,000.

In total, during the same period, £82m was spent on property in the area.

The average price of a house in Ventnor in January last year compares to £204,172 for the county of Isle Of Wight and a national average of £211,232.
