House Prices Fall in Royston, Hertfordshire

Property prices in Royston, Hertfordshire, fell by 2.9 per cent between January 2006 and January 2007.

According to the latest Land Registry figures, the average price of a property in Royston stood at £257,507 last January.

The average price of a detached home was £365,385 in January 2007, compared to £392,635 in the previous January, a difference of 6.9 per cent.

Semi-detached homes cost an average of £278,554 last January, compared to £191,785 the year before while the average price of a terraced home stood at £173,918 in January 2007, compared to £181,947 in January 2006.

The cheapest property purchased in Royston between January 2006 and January 2007 sold for £52,856 while the most expensive cost £1m.

In total, during the same period, £208m was spent on property in the area.

The average price of a house in Royston in January last year compares to £286,498 for the county of Hertfordshire and a national average of £211,232.
