House Prices Rise in Saffron Walden, Essex

Property prices in Saffron Walden, Essex, rose by 5.3 per cent between January 2006 and January 2007.

According to the latest Land Registry figures, the average price of a property in Saffron Walden stood at £256,288 last January.

The average price of a detached home was £417,150 in January 2007, compared to £342,412 in the previous January, a difference of 21.8 per cent.

Semi-detached homes cost an average of £206,799 last January, compared to £200,149 the year before while the average price of a terraced home stood at £198,061 in January 2007, compared to £188,250 in January 2006.

The cheapest property purchased in Saffron Walden between January 2006 and January 2007 sold for £65,000 while the most expensive cost £2m.

In total, during the same period, £180m was spent on property in the area.
