House Prices Rise in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex

Property prices in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, rose by 10.1 per cent between January 2006 and January 2007.

According to the latest Land Registry figures, the average price of a property in Leigh-on-Sea stood at £228,600 last January.

The average price of a detached home was £296,180 in January 2007, compared to £259,133 in the previous January, a difference of 14.3 per cent.

Semi-detached homes cost an average of £255,166 last January, compared to £212,409 the year before while the average price of a terraced home stood at £204,058 in January 2007, compared to £206,349 in January 2006.

The cheapest property purchased in Leigh-on-Sea between January 2006 and January 2007 sold for £60,000 while the most expensive cost £657,500.

In total, during the same period, £279m was spent on property in the area.

The average price of a house in Leigh-on-Sea in January last year compares to £226,157 for the county of Essex and a national average of £211,232.
