House Prices Fall in Harlow, Essex

Property prices in Harlow, Essex, fell by 4.1 per cent between January 2006 and January 2007.

According to the latest Land Registry figures, the average price of a property in Harlow stood at £167,241 last January.

The average price of a detached home was £319,176 in January 2007, compared to £363,233 in the previous January, a difference of 12.1 per cent.

Semi-detached homes cost an average of £194,383 last January, compared to £188,195 the year before while the average price of a terraced home stood at £163,174 in January 2007, compared to £148,796 in January 2006.

The cheapest property purchased in Harlow between January 2006 and January 2007 sold for £26,000 while the most expensive cost £1m.

In total, during the same period, £337m was spent on property in the area.

The average price of a house in Harlow in January last year compares to £226,157 for the county of Essex and a national average of £211,232.
