House Prices Rise in Grays, Essex

Property prices in Grays, Essex, rose by 0.8 per cent between January 2006 and January 2007.

According to the latest Land Registry figures, the average price of a property in Grays stood at £184,974 last January.

The average price of a detached home was £338,349 in January 2007, compared to £287,469 in the previous January, a difference of 17.7 per cent.

Semi-detached homes cost an average of £206,482 last January, compared to £202,111 the year before while the average price of a terraced home stood at £167,081 in January 2007, compared to £167,064 in January 2006.

The cheapest property purchased in Grays between January 2006 and January 2007 sold for £60,000 while the most expensive cost £799,995.

In total, during the same period, £377m was spent on property in the area.

The average price of a house in Grays in January last year compares to £226,157 for the county of Essex and a national average of £211,232.
