House Prices Fall in Benfleet, Essex

Property prices in Benfleet, Essex, fell by 9.2 per cent between January 2006 and January 2007.

According to the latest Land Registry figures, the average price of a property in Benfleet stood at £214,072 last January.

The average price of a detached home was £261,713 in January 2007, compared to £320,999 in the previous January, a difference of 18.5 per cent.

Semi-detached homes cost an average of £192,479 last January, compared to £191,325 the year before while the average price of a terraced home stood at £187,125 in January 2007, compared to £174,691 in January 2006.

The cheapest property purchased in Benfleet between January 2006 and January 2007 sold for £38,360 while the most expensive cost £2m.

In total, during the same period, £236m was spent on property in the area.
