House Prices Rise in Derby, Derbyshire

Property prices in Derby, Derbyshire, rose by 13.3 per cent between January 2006 and January 2007.

According to the latest Land Registry figures, the average price of a property in Derby stood at £165,004 last January.

The average price of a detached home was £254,032 in January 2007, compared to £221,029 in the previous January, a difference of 14.9 per cent.

Semi-detached homes cost an average of £144,528 last January, compared to £127,829 the year before while the average price of a terraced home stood at £115,479 in January 2007, compared to £102,008 in January 2006.

The cheapest property purchased in Derby between January 2006 and January 2007 sold for £12,000 while the most expensive cost £995,000.

In total, during the same period, £1,113m was spent on property in the area.

The average price of a house in Derby in January last year compares to £159,110 for the county of Derbyshire and a national average of £211,232.
