House Prices Rise in Cardiff, Cardiff

Property prices in Cardiff, Cardiff, rose by 6.3 per cent between January 2006 and January 2007.

According to the latest Land Registry figures, the average price of a property in Cardiff stood at £180,086 last January.

The average price of a detached home was £283,927 in January 2007, compared to £266,977 in the previous January, a difference of 6.4 per cent.

Semi-detached homes cost an average of £184,191 last January, compared to £178,755 the year before while the average price of a terraced home stood at £158,294 in January 2007, compared to £152,912 in January 2006.

The cheapest property purchased in Cardiff between January 2006 and January 2007 sold for £13,250 while the most expensive cost £1m.

In total, during the same period, £1,340m was spent on property in the area.

The average price of a house in Cardiff in January last year compares to £180,842 for the county of Cardiff and a national average of £211,232.
