House Prices Rise in St Ives, Cambridgeshire

Property prices in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, rose by 12.4 per cent between January 2006 and January 2007.

According to the latest Land Registry figures, the average price of a property in St Ives stood at £172,299 last January.

The average price of a detached home was £258,300 in January 2007, compared to £200,772 in the previous January, a difference of 28.7 per cent.

Semi-detached homes cost an average of £160,359 last January, compared to £140,428 the year before while the average price of a terraced home stood at £137,399 in January 2007, compared to £123,090 in January 2006.

The cheapest property purchased in St Ives between January 2006 and January 2007 sold for £50,500 while the most expensive cost £795,000.

In total, during the same period, £96m was spent on property in the area.

The average price of a house in St Ives in January last year compares to £214,280 for the county of Cambridgeshire and a national average of £211,232.
