House Prices Rise in March, Cambridgeshire

Property prices in March, Cambridgeshire, rose by 12.1 per cent between January 2006 and January 2007.

According to the latest Land Registry figures, the average price of a property in March stood at £149,715 last January.

The average price of a detached home was £180,532 in January 2007, compared to £151,499 in the previous January, a difference of 19.2 per cent.

Semi-detached homes cost an average of £143,453 last January, compared to £132,681 the year before while the average price of a terraced home stood at £126,785 in January 2007, compared to £115,849 in January 2006.

The cheapest property purchased in March between January 2006 and January 2007 sold for £52,000 while the most expensive cost £780,000.

In total, during the same period, £134m was spent on property in the area.

The average price of a house in March in January last year compares to £214,280 for the county of Cambridgeshire and a national average of £211,232.
